Tapping the Brain for Learning: Strategies for Incorporating Brain-Based Learning Research into Adult Learning | Recorded Webinar

HRDQ-U Webinar | Tapping the Brain for Learning

60 minutes

For years, learning theory has pointed to the fact that adults learn differently from children. The approach to training adults must be specific to their needs. Successful facilitators can often help improve learning outcomes in adults by creating training environments that incorporate what brain researchers have found stimulates brain neurons in children and tapping into some of the early learning memories that participants possess. For example, much of the brain based research done to this point shows that learning strategies that involve learner engagement, activities, fun, novelty, repetition, and environmental elements (e.g. sound, light, color, music and vegetation) assist adult learners in maximizing learning outcomes. Since the goal of adult learning is to assist participants in their effort to gain, retain, recall and use what they experience, it is logical to try to prepare a learning event for them conducive to learning and capitalize on research.

In this session, internationally-known author and trainer of adults, Bob Lucas, will share adult learning ideas, techniques and strategies that he has used and perfected over more than four decades of training adults of all types of backgrounds.
